Spring Activities

Vermont Maple Sugaring!

bill adams in sugar house The Adams Farm is preoccupied with making Maple Syrup, our most substantial crop, just as we have for generations. Beginning in mid-March, around Town Meeting Day, the snowshoes go on and the tubing starts going up. Once the web of tubing is connected to the trees, sleigh rides come to a halt and the entire farm's energy goes into sugarin'.

maple syrup We put out approximately 3500 taps, and make somewhere between 500 to 800 gallons of maple syrup annually to be sold retail out of the Farm Store. The Farm Store and Quilt and Fiber Arts Loft is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Of course online shoping at the online Farm Store is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

"Always great-our 5th time here! We love it!"

Visit the Livestock Barn

In addition to maple sugaring, our Livestock Barn is open to the public and, since Spring is also lambing season, you just might see a lamb being born. Come and check out all the babies! During the winter and spring, you can visit the farm animals indoors in the renovated dairy barn. There is a variety of hands-on fun for kids, including the popular Hay Jump!

April 7, 2007:
Eighth Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Adams Farm

Easter bunny Not only will the Easter bunny be at the Farm for Easter, but so will lots of baby bunnies for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt.

May 26 & 27, 2007:
Sheep and Wool Weekend

And of course spring wouldn't be complete without baby chicks! When you visit our petting farm, don't be surprised if you get a chance to see a "new arrival," such as baby chicks, lambs, bunnies, calves, farm kittens and more being born. There's always a new farm animal somewhere in the Livestock Barn.
