Presidents' Week Activities
Release Date February 14, 2006

WILMINGTON, VT - Visitors to the Mount Snow area often make friends, but at Adams Farm, those friends may be two- or four-legged. The animals in the Indoor Livestock Barn are always eager to meet new people, especially if they're holding baskets of tasty treats.

The Indoor Livestock Barn is open every day during Presidents' Week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. There are plenty of animals to make friends with, including sheep, alpaca, goats, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, chickens, and cows. The hay jump is a great place to expend the endless energy of vacationing children, and they can look for eggs in the chicken coop, taking one home if they get lucky.

The Adams Farm Store offers John Deere tractors for young farmers-in-training. Stuffed versions of the farm animals can go home with the children, and parents will enjoy extending the farm experience with the collection of books, games, and our maple products. The Quilt & Fiber Arts Loft offers many locally made quilts, sweaters, blankets, scarves, shawls, and hats as well as a baby nook, fiber nook, and knitting nook.

Join us on February 25, 2006 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm as we welcome Fiber Artist Leslie Markey as she demonstrates how to use a variety of comb types to prepare fibers for spinning yarns. This topic is a great follow up to the "Harvesting and Spinning Llama and Alpaca" topic from February 18. Combs can be very sharp so we will also learn how to handle them with respect. On Sunday at the same time, come on by with your knitting project or start a new one with our luscious merino yarns during our Knitting Circle.
